Artega cars — models, engines and maintenance
Artega was a German sports-car manufacturer founded in 2006 in Delbrück. Its principal production car was the Artega GT, a compact two-seat, mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive sports coupé. Following the company’s insolvency, Artega sports-car production ended on 30 September 2012 and was not resumed.
The Artega GT was produced from 2009 to 2012. It uses a 3.6-litre Volkswagen VR6 petrol engine producing around 300 hp and a six-speed DSG transmission, with an aluminium spaceframe and composite bodywork. A total of 153 cars were built. The Artega SE and Scalo electric projects are separate development programmes and should not be confused with the series-production GT.
For accurate Artega GT maintenance information, the VIN, production year, exact engine specification, DSG transmission, electronic control units, cooling system, brakes, suspension and Artega-specific chassis and body parts must be considered. Although the engine and some drivetrain components originate within the Volkswagen Group system, Volkswagen vehicle data is not sufficient for the complete car. Its mid-engine layout, access to service points, specific cooling system, gearbox calibration and scarce-parts availability require particular attention. Service decisions should be based on the VIN, factory documentation and the condition of the individual vehicle.
